ORCHARDWALK
Are you one to walk among the trees? That's what I did... on random weekends for a full year. Then I wrote about it. Spending a year in an apple orchard, which was basically the premise, gave me a time to recall the time in my youth when I enjoyed the solitude of working... and walking... the rows of our family orchard in Red Hook, New York. On random weekends over the course of a year, I woke early and drove two hours to Red Hook, New York to walk the rows of a 30 acre orchard, and then drove home.

We all know if you pick an apple and eat it, it brings a certain pleasure that lasts to the core. What I hope you gain here is to know that if you walk an orchard and give yourself time to think and breathe, you come away with much more. If you consider yourself to be "one with the trees" if only on occasion, I am certain that Orchardwalk will take you back, give you pause, and maybe heal you a bit from your go, go life.
JOURNEY TO THE MIDDLE MEADOW
Written for young readers just getting started with "chapter" books, the Journey to the Middle Meadow tells the story of two brothers who visit their grandfather at the family farm to discover that there is more to the fictional stories he tells than they ever imagined. A wholesome story. I'm sure your child will enjoy learning about the grandfather's orchard.
